Learn to Surf with the Gold Coast Surf Experience

Our learn to surf sessions are held daily by highly qualified, experienced and local surf coaches ensuring that you are learning from the best surfers on the Gold Coast.

During the session you will learn about our beach environment, how to read the surf, winds, tides and most importantly riding the waves!

Learn to surf sessions include a 1.5 hour session, a beginners surfboard and rash top.

Choose between joining our group classes or a private surf coaching experience.

  • This session is best suited for those who have never surfed or those new to the sport. We provide all the gear you need and ensure you remain safe throughout the session with a qualified coach in the water.

    Once you can surf unassisted and have your own equipment you may be ready for our intermediate coaching sessions.

    • 1.5 hr surf lesson, learn to read the tides, winds and local surf conditions

    • Surfboard (beginner soft top)

    • Rash top

    • Qualified, experienced and local surf coach to assist you in the water

  • We will meet at the beach on the corner of Tallebudgera Drive and Gold Coast Hwy, look for the Gold Coast Surf Experience van and flags.

    You will be able to store your belongings safely in the designated area after changing into your surf gear. Your coach will provide you with all the relevant equipment.

    Once on the beach your coach will teach you about surf safety protocols, how to correctly read the surf conditions, handling your surfboard and most importantly how to ride the waves like a pro!

    Coaches remain in the water for the duration of the session and will give useful tips and plenty of advice to keep advancing your skills and knowledge throughout the class.

1.5 Hours. Please arrive 10 mins prior to start time, allowing for parking.

Our Learn to surf sessions are taken at Tallebudgera Beach in Palm Beach.

Find us in the carpark at the corner of Tallebudgera Drive and Gold Coast Hwy (see above for our google maps location).

Please note, location is subject to change if conditions are unsuitable at Tallebudgera. Back up options include Palm Beach, Tugun and North Kirra. You will be notified if a change is made to your session. Please be prepared incase of location changes.
